Led by its co-owners and founders, Izidor (Izzy) and Nadia Kopavnik, the lab produces a full range of Orthodontic Appliances, Dentures, CAD CAM splints, and Zirconia Crowns. Izzy is the principal dental technician, and Nadia is the business manager.
Izzy and Nadia’s journey began in Europe before the pair immigrated to Australia in 2007. By 2011, Esydent was born, serving a small group of specialist Orthodontic and General Practitioner clients. Today, the business has grown by retaining long-term clients along with a cautious approach to adding new clinics.
Passionate purpose
Nadi explains: “The quality of service and quality of our products are the two most vital aspects of our clients' experience. We cannot ever let our customers down. When a clinic books a patient to fit one of our appliances, there is no option for us not to deliver the highest quality on time”.
“That’s why we always take a cautious approach to business growth. Of course, we want our business to grow, but never at the expense of quality, timeliness and the highest standards of personalised service”.
Nadia and Izzy come across as very caring and driven people. Passion stands out in particular, with both of them loving their work. They care very deeply about their role in supporting their clinician clients’ patient care. Another is hard work - doing whatever is necessary to uphold their quality and service delivery standards.
Technical excellence
Nadia enthuses about Izzy’s extraordinary level of technical skill and the artistry he puts into every appliance. Everything is made with symmetry and aesthetics in mind. But more than aesthetics is the physical design that ensures optimum patient comfort and durability.
Izzy explains: “Patients can feel the difference of only 1/10th of a millimetre – 10 microns. So, when we pay meticulous attention to design and manufacture, it makes a genuine difference. I always imagine my signature on every appliance that leaves our lab - that I’ve signed my name to the work.”
The care taken in quality is an aspect that extends to the whole Esydent team. Izzy continues: The lab technician job requires a particular aptitude and trained skills. It’s not something that just anyone can do. So, we recruit very carefully to ensure that the people who work with us can attain the standards we and our clients expect. We have a trainee with us now who we are investing in for our mutual benefit. It’s well worth it to maintain quality”.
Izzy also takes great pleasure in co-designing appliances with clients. “It doesn’t happen every day, but we have circumstances where a complex indication requires some creative thinking to make an appliance that can be effective, comfortable and reliable. We love helping our clients achieve what they want for their patients."
Esydent focuses mainly on Orthodontic appliances, but their work extends to almost all areas of dental lab work, including:

- Sleep apnoea and anti-snoring appliances
- Rapid expansion appliances.
Meanwhile, Nadia brings a very dedicated approach to the client service result. Rigorous processes ensure that every job is triaged and managed to meet the agreed delivery deadline. Attention is applied to providing personalised services that are helpful and responsive. “We value our relationships with our clients beyond the business aspects alone. We aim to enjoy every interaction and make it a pleasure”.
