Convoluted foam extends under the legs to beyond the knees to help prevent hyper-extension of the knee
Can also be used further up the bed when the Patient is sitting up in bed, to stop them from slipping down
Other uses could be for general posture as a back rest, pillow, or side support

In use, the weight of the blankets will be taken by the foam, thus relieving the feet of extra pressure. The bedclothes may still touch the feet so they should keep warm. This is because they will not be in a void that is created by some other bed cradles. The weight of the bedclothes may be sufficient to hold the cradles in place, but if necessary it can be tied into position using the coloured loops.
