Suction machines or aspirators are dedicated medical devices that are specifically designed and developed for medical professionals to remove obstructions from patients. They can remove, contain, and allow easy and safe disposal of obstructions like secretions, saliva, blood, and mucus. They are used on patients when they are not able to remove the obstruction themselves due to injury, unconsciousness, or during a medical procedure.
Powered by a small but powerful electric motor these machines can develop suction pressure of more than 80 KPa. Suction pressure can easily be controlled before and during operation.
To receive and contain the obstruction, suction machines are equipped with specially designed removable containers.
To avoid loss of function due to power outages many machines are equipped with a rechargeable battery that can have a charge life of up to an hour.
Operating a suction machine is quite easy. First, attach one end first suction line to the machine and the other end to the container. Attach one end of a second suction line with the container and use the other end of the suction line to remove the obstruction from the patient. Once the operation is done, stop the machine, remove the suction line and dispose of them.
Remove the containers from the machine and either dispose of them or wash them depending on the application and type of container used.
