Indigo Care Chair Sensor Pad - Wired
Indigo Care provides a pressure sensitive Premium Chair Sensor Pad that is designed to immediately alert staff should a resident leave their chair. This is most useful to residents who are at risk of falling out of their chair, or those who require assistance in arising from the chair. The pad is placed in the centre of the chair, directly underneath the resident’s bottom. A light covering can be placed on top of the chair sensor pad. However, if using a cushion, please test to ensure the sensor pad is working properly. Some types of memory foam cushions can affect the response time.
For a normally open call system, a monitor is required. Indigo Care’s Deluxe Fall Alarm Monitor is a dual function monitor that can be used Wired, with a nurse call lead to connect to your nurse call system or it can be used Wireless, as a stand-alone monitor. With its specially designed transmitter for RJ11 connected sensor mats, the set up can be completely wireless or wired depending on your requirements.
WIRED:
For a normally open call system, the monitor’ transmitter is connected to the chair pad (MED-C365-NC10) and then to the call point with a nurse call lead designed for your specific system.
For a normally close call system, the chair pad (MED-C365-JS63) is connected directly to the call point with an interfacing lead.
WIRELESS:
The monitor’s transmitter is connected to the chair pad (MED-C365-NC10). Using the monitor as standalone. The carer will either place the monitor near the chair pad or at the nurse’s station. The transmitter has a range of 25-30 metres. Please test.
Whether you choose to set up the chair sensor pad as Wired or Wireless, once the resident removes themselves from the chair pad and tries to leave their chair, the sensor mat will activate the monitor’s alarm or via a direct connection with a Y lead and alert the staff. Set-up instructions are printed on the actual chair pad.
