There is nothing like the HeartSine Samaritan 500P public access defibrillator with CPR advisor technology.
In making a decision as to which Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to purchase, you need to carefully consider the 4 links in the internationally accepted chain of survival – otherwise your investment might be an unwise one. These links are:
- Early Access – (i.e. someone has to be there to help)
- Early CPR
- Early Defibrillation
- Early Advanced Care – (i.e. the victim needs to receive hospitalisation).
In the case of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, good CPR is so important to maintain the supply of oxygenated blood to the brain and other organs, as the first shock will not always bring about a return of spontaneous circulation.
At this point the rescuer will be instructed to perform CPR. Poor quality compressions will not effectively distribute the blood to these vital organs, and they begin to fail quickly. And about 70% of all CPR is ineffectively performed.
The HeartSine Samaritan 500P Defibrillator contains technology that determines electrically through the defibrillation pads, whether your compressions are in fact effective.
So not only will voice prompts guide you through the process of defibrillation (like all AED’s), but this device will tell you to “Push Harder” or whether you are doing “Good Compressions” -all based on real cardiac output (real blood flow).
With the HeartSine Samaritan 500P Defibrillator, you make every second of your rescue efforts count. There are people alive today that have been saved by the 500p...and others who have the comforting knowledge that they did everything they could.
*10 Year Warranty (Longest in industry)
*Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 56 (this is the highest IP rating of any aed)
*The only AED that monitors compressions BY CARDIAC OUTPUT (Blood flow)
*Certified for use in aircraft
*Approved by Surf Life Saving Australia for use by all affiliated surf life saving clubs and services.
New changes to Australian Resuscitation Guidelines recommends the use of prompt devices to improve CPR quality. The 500P is outstanding in this regard as it provides real-time feed-back while the rescuer is performing chest compressions. It instructs the rescuer to push harder or softer, faster or slower, and when compressions are being done correctly it will say good compressions. All of this feedback is based on real time Impedence Cardiography (ICG) measurements.
That means it is taking determining clinically whether the rescuer is getting the heart to pump blood around the body. No other AED can do this. This advancement in technology ensures that your chest compressions actually achieve cardiac output, or blood flow. This is so important because your brain consumes 20% of your body's oxygen even though it only comprises 2% of your body mass).
So in a few minutes the brain has exhausted the oxygen supply from the arteries and capillaries around it. Thats why your chest compressions need to be good - to get some more blood to the brain and other vital organs.
The Samaritan 500P does not just work on an average force or pressure like other CPR feedback devices. It provides victim specific information to ensure your chest compressions are sufficient to produce vital blood flow to the brain. Key Differentiators
HeartSine’s samaritan 500P PAD offers unique features:
Compact in Size. Big on Ability
Built-in confidence. The samaritan PAD 500P integrated CPR Advisor uses an Impedance Cardiogram (ICG) to assess the effectiveness of the CPR and give the rescuer feedback on compressions: “Push Harder,” “Push Faster,” “Push Slower” or reassurance that they are performing “Good Compressions.”
User-friendly. Easy-to-understand visual and voice prompts guide a user through the entire process.
Compact and lightweight. Up to 56% smaller than other AEDs on the market and weighs only 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg).
Highest level of dust/moisture protection. The samaritan PAD has a rating of IP56, providing the SAM 500P defibrillator with the highest level of protection from dust or moisture ingress in the industry.
Durable. The samaritan PAD 500P resists shock and vibration and carries a ten-year unit warranty that demonstrates the reliability of this quality unit.
Advanced technology. The samaritan PAD 500P utilizes proprietary electrode technology, advanced and stable firmware, and proprietary SCOPE™* Biphasic Technology (an escalating and low-energy waveform that automatically adjusts for patient impedance differences) to assess rhythm and maximize effective shock delivery if necessary.
*Self-Compensating Output Pulse Envelope technology automatically compensates energy, slope and pulse envelope for the patient.
Easy-to-Follow Visual and Voice Prompts
User-friendly. The samaritan PAD 500P features easy-to understand visual and voice prompts that guide a user through the process. Three large, easy-to-see icons facilitate the rescue process: “Attach pads,” “Do not touch the patient,” and “It is safe to touch the patient”.
Two-button operation. Only two buttons, ON/OFF and SHOCK, are required, providing straightforward operation.
Always ready. A System Status Ready Indicator flashes to show that the complete system is operational and ready for use. Device automatically runs self check each week.
Real Economy for the Real World
Two parts, one expiration date. Pad-Pak™ cartridge combines battery and electrode pads, with one expiration date to monitor.
Low cost of ownership. Cartridge has a shelf life of 4 years from date of manufacture, offering significant savings over other defibrillators that require separate battery and pad units.
Protects both adults and children. The HeartSine PAD’s built-in intelligence and unique Pediatric Pad-Pak, which is available for 1-8 years of age (<25 kg or 55 lbs), ensure the appropriate energy level is delivered for children. CPR Advisor is automatically turned off when a Pediatric Pad-Pak is used.
Field upgradeable. Easily upgraded in the field to the latest AHA/ERC guidelines.
