Orthofix Orthopaedic Device | Fractures ...
In essence, the system consists of TL-HEX circular and semi-circular external supports secured to the bone by wires and half pins and interconnected initially by three or four Rapid Adjust Struts. The semi-circular support has a distinctive design that allows to combine a 5/8 ring with a 3/8 ring converting the 5/8 into a full ring. Furthermore, the rapid struts design allows multi-planar adjustment of the external supports. The rings position is adjusted either rapidly or gradually in precise increments to perform bone segment repositioning in three-dimensional space. All components of the TL-HEX Trauma are compatible with the TrueLok Ring Fixation System; therefore external supports from both systems can be connected to each other when building fixation blocks. The surgeon can perform a rapid reduction of the fracture during the surgery and, in case of need, a further post-operative precise adjustment by replacing the Rapid struts with the conventional TL-HEX struts. In this way, the TL-HEX Trauma will be transformed into the standard TL-HEX with the possibility to use the associated software (www.tlhex.com).
