Place the padded section in front of the Patient and wrap the webbing around the chair frame on both sides.
Wrap the webbing either:
Fasten the buckle behind the chair. On narrow chairs it may be necessary to wrap the surplus webbing a few times around the chair.
As some Patients may rock or lean forward it may be possible to place the padded section across the chest.
Do not use across the chest if the Patient is liable to slide down the chair.
For this behaviour we recommend the Chair Belt for Sliders – Rear Fastening.

This is to ensure it will be used correctly and safely by the family and/or carers, and that using it will not be dangerous. Examples of a suitable person who is able to sign the letter are: Occupational Therapist; Physiotherapist; Clinical Nurse Manager; Registered Nurse; Doctor or another suitably qualified person.
